(Green Grams)

Ingredients
1 cup of green grams (dried mung beans)
10 cups of water
1 cup of coconut milk
1 big onion
1 green bell pepper
2 tomatoes
1 tablespoon of tomato paste
2 tablespoons of oil
2 cloves of garlic
2 tablespoons of parsley or cilantro
1 ½ teaspoons of salt
Preparation
Chop the green bell pepper.
Chop the onion.
Chop the tomatoes.
Crush the garlic.
Wash the green grams well.
Cooking
Put 8 cups of water in a pot and let it boil.
Put the green grams into the boiling water in the pot.
Let them cook there until they become soft and tender, around 30
minutes.
Mash the green grams with the 2 cups of water, using a wooden
spoon or potato masher.
Remove the mashed green grams from the stove.
Get another pot and add oil and the chopped onions.
Add the salt, cilantro, garlic, green bell pepper, tomato paste
and chopped tomatoes.
Let this mixture cook and mix well occasionally stirring, around
5 minutes.
Stir in the green grams mix.
Add coconut milk and cook till ready around 10 minutes.
Serve with chapatis or plain rice.
